Building Thought Leadership with Words: A Look Back at Our Writing Workshop with LOOP Marketing

Last month, the CYS Global Remit team gathered for an inspiring and transformative session dedicated to honing one of the most vital skills in today’s business world: writing with authority and clarity. 

The full day Thought Leadership Workshop, facilitated by LOOP Marketing, provided our team with practical frameworks, innovative insights into content creation, audience engagement, and the dynamic role of AI in professional writing. It was a day where strategic thinking met creative expression, leaving everyone equipped with skills they can apply both professionally and personally.

What We Learned and How We Applied It 

Instead of a traditional lecture format, the workshop fostered high energy, lively discussions, and hands-on exercises that turned concepts into real-world application. 

We started the morning exploring the essence of Thought Leadership—what it is, why it’s important, and how it applies to individuals and organizations within the fintech and cross-border payments space. The session sparked vibrant conversations as participants shared examples from their departments, covering topics from regulatory trends to emerging markets. We also discussed how their unique insights could influence public opinion and educate stakeholders. 

Our first group activity challenged teams to brainstorm the insights they can bring to the industry. What perspectives do we hold that others outside the industry might overlook? Ideas ranged from practical SME cash flow tips to regulatory updates, illustrating how much valuable content exists within each team yet remains untapped. 

One of the most engaging parts was the session on Training AI for Your Desired Writing Style. We examined how AI tools like ChatGPT and ClaudeAI can be used not just as content generators but as intelligent collaborators. Using the CRAFT Framework, teams experimented with various prompts, seeing firsthand how minor adjustments led to vastly different tones and structures. It was an eye-opening experience—many had their “aha!” moments when comparing outputs from different AI platforms and identified which suited specific content needs best. 

Each session was followed by collaborative exercises—brainstorming, critiquing, and creating together. These moments sparked not only innovative ideas but also laughter, unexpected creativity, and strengthened team bonds. Some teams were surprised by how quickly they could produce insightful content with the right guidance and encouragement. 

We wrapped up the workshop with an open Q&A, providing a platform for reflection and sharing. Many attendees expressed appreciation for learning how to communicate their expertise more effectively—without sounding overly technical or vague—especially important when engaging with stakeholders who lack industry-specific knowledge.

After an enriching morning, we celebrated with a relaxed, hearty lunch in our cafeteria—a perfect reflection of our collaborative spirit, vibrant work culture, and shared passion for learning.

It was about empowering each team member to contribute meaningfully to our collective voice within the fintech and cross-border payments industry.
