CYS at Dementia Singapore’s 35th Anniversary Gala

A Report by CYS Global Remit Digital Media Marketing Team

On 5th September 2025, CYS Global Remit had the honour of attending Dementia Singapore's 35th Anniversary Gala Dinner at the prestigious Pan Pacific Singapore. This meaningful celebration not only marked the organisation's remarkable three-and-a-half-decade journey but also reaffirmed the collective responsibility we share as a society in supporting those impacted by dementia.

Our participation held special significance, as CYS has been a proud supporter and donor of Dementia Singapore for the past five years. Being invited to this milestone celebration was both a privilege and a powerful reminder of the importance of standing together to create a more inclusive future for our ageing population.

A Night to Remember

The evening commenced with inspiring speeches that set a meaningful tone for the celebration. Guest-of-honour Mr K. Shanmugam delivered a particularly impactful address, highlighting the realities of Singapore's ageing society and emphasising why this cause demands our collective attention and support.

However, the formal proceedings soon gave way to vibrant entertainment that brought energy and joy to the room. The audience was treated to an impressive array of performances, from 17-year-old local talent Jordin Tan's powerful vocals to lively getai performances that had the entire room clapping along in unison.

Yet amidst all these wonderful performances, the most touching highlight of the evening came from the performances by some of the dementia patients themselves. Their courage, infectious joy, and remarkable talent truly lit up the stage, serving as a poignant reminder of the human spirit's resilience and why supporting this cause matters so profoundly to our community.

Food, Fun, and Giving Back

No gala would be complete without exceptional cuisine, and Pan Pacific Singapore certainly delivered on this front. Each carefully prepared course not only delighted the palate but also facilitated warm conversations around the tables, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie amongst guests.

The excitement reached its peak during the live auction, where guests enthusiastically bid to raise vital funds for dementia care programmes. The spirited and friendly competition created an infectious buzz throughout the room, transforming what could have been a routine fundraising activity into one of the evening's most energetic and memorable moments.

Connections That Matter

Beyond the entertainment and fine dining, the gala provided invaluable opportunities for networking and meaningful connections. The evening brought together a diverse community including donors, dedicated caregivers, corporate partners, and members of the dementia community itself. These interactions fostered warm conversations centred around shared purpose and collective commitment to the cause.

The networking aspect proved particularly valuable, allowing like-minded organisations and individuals to strengthen existing relationships whilst forming new partnerships that will undoubtedly benefit the broader dementia care community in Singapore.

CYS’s Continued Commitment

For CYS Global Remit, attending this gala represented far more than simply a corporate social event—it was an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable progress of an organisation we have proudly supported for five years. Throughout this partnership, we have witnessed firsthand how Dementia Singapore continues to touch countless lives through its comprehensive care services, tireless advocacy efforts, and extensive community outreach programmes.

Our ongoing support reflects CYS's broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and our belief in giving back to the communities we serve. We are genuinely grateful to be part of Dementia Singapore's journey and look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership in the years ahead.

Looking Forward with Hope

As the evening drew to a close, one message resonated clearly throughout the room: this celebration was not merely about acknowledging 35 years of remarkable achievements, but equally about recognising the resilience, joy, and indomitable spirit of the entire dementia care community.

The gala successfully demonstrated that whilst dementia presents significant challenges for patients, families, and caregivers, there remains tremendous hope when communities come together with purpose and determination. The evening served as a powerful testament to what can be achieved through collective action, sustained commitment, and unwavering compassion.

Here's to celebrating 35 years of meaningful impact, and to many more years of positive change ahead!
