CYS Sponsored Dementia Singapore - Michael Learns To Rock Concert & Family Fiesta Carnival

Contributed by Josephine Ng, Senior Manager

At CYS Global Remit, we have always believed in the spirit of giving back. Last week, CYS had the incredible opportunity to be a part of something truly special.

On Saturday morning on 9th September 2023 at Our Tampines Hub 1 Tampines Walk, the air was filled with excitement and a sense of purpose when Dementia Singapore, previously known as the ‘Alzheimer’s Disease Association’, hosted a Family Fiesta Carnival that turned Our Tampines Hub into a bustling carnival ground. Dementia Singapore is Singapore’s leading Social Service Agency in specialised dementia care, caregiver support, training, consultancy, and advocacy. Its goal is to improve the well-being of people impacted by dementia through Care Innovation, Advocacy and Empowerment.

From 10 am that morning till 3:30 pm in the afternoon, families enjoyed various outdoor activities in the open field, while CYS hosted a booth to give out free CYS bottled water and set up a 'spin the wheel' game for participants to win free prizes like the CYS foldable frisbees, CYS manicure sets, CYS pen and CYS notepad with pen. It was heart-warming to see so many participants come to 'spin the wheel' and walk away with cool gifts. A pleasant surprise by Mr. Desmond Choo, Mayor of the North East District, when he dropped by for a visit at the CYS booth and took photos with our CYS crew members.

As night took over, the Danish sensational rock band, Michael Learns To Rock (MLTR) took the stage for this Dementia Singapore’s fundraising event. And as MLTR began their performance, the overwhelming emotion was palpable. Their timeless hits not only entertained but also united everyone for a heartfelt cause. All of us couldn't help but feel immense pride in being a part of such a community-driven event.

A heartfelt thanks from CYS Global Remit to Dementia Singapore, MLTR, and each one of you who stopped by our booth, sang along to the tunes and supported the cause. This was a testament to the strength of our community and the difference we can make when we come together.

Stay connected, and let's continue to make a difference, one step at a time. Let's keep the momentum going. Stay tuned for more ESG initiatives by CYS and ways CYS can support our community together.
